Where am I from ?

While Panjab is a state, even in Panjab there are regions and sub regions. Going past regions we get to the districts such as Jalandhar, Amritsar, Moga, Hoshiarpur (We can imagine you have heard of some of these districts!). After districts you get to the last post which is your pind (village).
Panjab is huge and the reason there are sub regions is because in the years gone by many people were situated in areas that separated them by water. Doaba sits on the east of the river Beas and north of the river Sutlej. Majha sits between the rivers Ravi and Beas while the whole of Malwa sits South of the river Sutlej.
To this day we get so many people asking us about Doaba, Malwa and Majha saying ‘SO WHAT REGION AM I FROM?’. It’s not that they don’t know because many people know what district or pind they are from (we hope you know your pind!), it’s just that nobody has ever taught them about the bigger regions. We can bet that many people before reading this probably didn’t even know that only the rivers divided the regions!
So to help you guys and girls out we have complied a list below and categorised DOABA, MALWA and MAJHA into their respective districts. All the districts below ALL fall under a region so if you know your pind or atleast your district you will know what region you are from!
